Frequently Asked Questions

Can you do bookkeeping and accounting?

I am neither a bookkeeper nor an accountant.  My work overlaps but extends beyond what bookkeepers and accountants do.  I can promptly track and assign your individual expenses to categories, clients, projects and jobs, asking you questions as needed while your memory is fresh.  This not only allows your invoices to be generated in a timely and accurate way, but also reduces the workload for bookkeepers/accountants and reduces the hassle of trying to figure out what exactly an expense from several months ago was for.  I can work with your bookkeeper and/or accountant to make sure what I do complements what they do.

Do you work evenings, weekends or holidays?

Just as my goal in working with you is to help you have a better work-life balance, I have the same goal for myself.  My regular hours are approx. 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri.  I may be able to work outside these times in the following situations:

1)
Advance Notice: you can ask me in advance and, if I agree to work, I will charge my off-hours rates as
posted on this website.

2)
Urgent Need: if an unexpected, truly urgent need for my services comes up, I will do my best to
accommodate, but I cannot guarantee I will be available, and I will charge my off-hours rates as posted on this website.

How do you prioritize your clients?

My clients are prioritized based on my commitments to them and the relative time-sensitivity of the items I am handling for them.  It's as simple as that.  I aim to treat all my clients equally with no favouritism.  You would not want to be treated as less important than my other clients, so you can rest assured that I provide the same level of dedication and loyalty to everyone.

Can you prioritize urgent requests?

If something truly urgent comes up, I will absolutely do my best to accommodate and prioritize that as much as possible, provided it does not conflict with some other client's time-sensitive item that cannot be shifted.  I will be upfront and let you know what the chances are of me satisfying your request, or if I cannot do it at all. I won't say "yes" just to try to make you happy in the moment, even though I know I probably cannot do it.

How does payment work?

I will send you invoices every two weeks, and you can pay me via Interac e-Transfer or via this old-timey thing you may have heard of called a "cheque" (ha ha).

Can I pay you with my business goods or services?

I think trading is a cool and fun way to pay for things, so I'm open to offers.  Hmmm, how can I get a good local ice cream shop or pastry bakery as a client?

Who took the photos for your website?

It was the awesomely talented local photographer Angela Fama!  Check out her work here.
