As a plumber, I'm on the tools all day.  When I became a father of young twin boys, I had zero time on evenings and weekends to deal with all the office and administrative aspects of my business and my personal life.  Things got a bit disorganized, to say the least!  Rob has been an amazing help and I don't know how I'd get by without him.  He's proven his resourcefulness, capability and trustworthiness time and again.  More than someone who simply carries out tasks for me, he proactively seeks ways to improve my business and has become one of the main people I turn to for advice in my business and personal life.  Here are some of the things Rob's done and still does for me:

- Reviewed bank records and got cheque images from my bank to determine which invoices had been paid and which had not, and contacted clients to collect overdue payments.

- Identified invoices that had not been sent, prepared and sent them, and followed up for payment.

- Discovered some clients never receive invoices due to emails sent by Quickbooks being blocked by spam filters; wrote templates for e-mails so we now send invoices directly from the business email account.

- Following incorporation, coordinated getting new bank accounts and credit cards, handled updating/creating new accounts with suppliers, insurance, WorkSafeBC,  Technical Safety BC, etc.

- Set up a PO Box that we can both access for business-related mail.

- Monitors my business email, handles most responses, organizes my emails into folders, downloads & saves documents.

- Tracks all costs from bank accounts and credit cards, saves digital copies of all invoices/receipts to my cloud drive, and compiles individual expenses into a spreadsheet that categorizes them, assigns them to the correct client and job, breaks down the taxes for GST rebates, and calculates mark-ups so I know exactly what my costs are and what to charge for each job

- Got us having weekly meetings where we prepare invoices and review overdue invoices.  I've never been so on top of my invoicing!  Follows up on overdue invoices to collect payment.

- Deposits cheques, and saves images of cheques so can always verify & match deposits with cheques.

- Keeps Quickbooks synced with my bank accounts and matches deposits with invoices.

- Ensures all bills are paid, including taxes.

- Communicates with my bookkeeper and accountant to ensure his work is aligned with their work.

- Manages my accounts with Suppliers, Insurance, WorkSafeBC, Industry Trades Authority, Technical Safety BC, Rogers Wireless, etc.

- Identifies and seeks corrections for billing errors from suppliers, seeks improved rates.

- Subscribed me to a password manager service and got all my passwords set up in it.

- Extensively researched the convoluted Federal and Provincial grant/rebate programs for residential energy efficiency upgrades and can now tell me exactly how much a particular client can receive; wrote a how-to guide for homeowners filling out applications, walks homeowners through the process.

- When a general contracting company ghosted and did not pay, Rob found a construction lawyer and coordinated a lawsuit that was successful in a net payout equal to approx. 50% of my costs for that job, more than double what I would have received had I only filed a lien.

- When I purchased a new vehicle and the dealership failed to accurately explain what my monthly cost would be, Rob set up an in-person meeting at the dealership and got them to provide $1,000 in credits and a free regular service.

- On the personal side, he handled communication between my lawyer, myself and the other party in negotiating a complex real estate deal

- When I moved, he set up mail-forwarding and helped with updating my mailing address with various companies & organizations, and helped with getting some household bills on auto-pay

- Transfers funds from my business to my personal account when needed.

I cannot say enough good things about Rob; he's my business and life manager!

I employed Rob's services to help me with tasks and documents I needed as part of re-hiring my live-in childcare provider via Canada's Temporary Foreign Worker program.  I had done some of it, but between caring for my children and doing post-secondary studies full time, I had neither the time nor the energy for the more complicated aspects. 

Rob stepped in, communicated with my accountant and the agency that was helping me, figured out what needed to be done, and did it.  This included dealing with my CRA account, WorkSafeBC account, and bank account. 

Based on referrals, I felt confident I could trust Rob, and this was proven to be true.  He was responsive, communicative, and effective.  I definitely will use his services again and wholeheartedly recommend him.

I recently hired Rob's company to help us navigate the rather head-spinning web of regulations, eligibility criteria and approved equipment lists of the Federal Canada Greener Homes Grant and the CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program.  These programs give money back to homeowners who upgrade their homes to be more energy-efficient.

So far I've been very impressed with his work and it's great to know I have someone I can count on.  He is able to tell me what grants and rebates a homeowner is eligible for and what specific makes and models of equipment can be used.  In addition, he's created a user-friendly questionnaire I can use to determine a homeowner's eligibility, and a how-to guide to help homeowners fill out the eligibility checks and application forms.  He communicates directly with the homeowner to help them understand and complete the process.

I'm looking forward to using Rob's services more in future.
